Waterford continues to buck the trend when it comes to the percentage of vacant homes in the county.

GeoDirectory's report for the last quarter of 2022 shows that nationally, the vacancy rate has risen by 5%.

There are fewer vacant homes in Waterford than in almost any other county.

The report shows the vacancy rate here, as of the end of December last, was 2.5%.

That's a slight decrease on the same period in 2021, when it was at 2.8%.

However, nationally, more homes have become vacant, with the rate rising by 5% to 83,662 units.

That equates to a national average of 4%.

Waterford had the fourth lowest percentage of vacant homes in the country as of the end of last year.
