Gardaí in Waterford are urging people not to attend a house party, gathering or protest today.
A major garda operation is under way across the country to ensure people adhere to Covid-19 restrictions this St Patrick's Day.
More than 2,500 gardai will be on duty nationwide to prevent large gatherings, non essential travel and house parties.
Public order units have been deployed to various parts of Dublin - where anti-lockdown protests are expected - along with the air, dog and mounted units.
Inspector Gavin Hegarty said there is a €500 fine for organising a house party; 429 have been issued nationwide and 1,600 for people who attended a house party.
He said: "We want people to listen to the public health advice and to listen to what's being asked of them, and to not get themselves in bother in the first place."
Inspector Hegarty added that they don't want to have to fine or arrest people and want everyone "to take on board the risks" posed by breaches.
There will be checkpoints and high visibility patrols throughout the city and county, according to Inspector Hegarty.
