One in four Garda stations recorded lower staffing levels compared with the previous 12 months.
That's according to the Irish Independent, publishing the latest Garda staffing figures.
The station in Waterford City saw a drop of 22 staff during 2022, compared to the end of 2021.
In the 10 year period from 2013 to December 2022, Waterford City had an increase of 57 people, marking a 34% increase.

42 stations across the country have recorded no permanent Garda attached to them.
Meanwhile, Portlaw, which had previously been unstaffed, now has a Garda stationed there again.
