Accessibility to the fire proved difficult and lead to a prolonged operation as the fire spread to nearby cliffs and was prevented from spreading to forestry.
Fires were extinguished by 3am today (Friday morning) and crews returned to base.
Emergency services are urging the public to be mindful of fire hazards during the dry period.
It comes as Met Éireann has forecast temperatures of up to 20 degrees Celcius this weekend.
