Waterford festival-goers hope to avoid downpours as two weather warnings issued

Festival-goers in Waterford are hoping to avoid downpours today as two weather warnings come into place in Ireland.

Met Eireann has issued a Status Orange rain warning for Donegal, Galway and Mayo.

It comes into effect at midnight and lasts until 10am tomorrow.

A Status Yellow weather warning has also been issued for Connacht, Clare and Donegal. It begins at 1pm this afternoon and ends at midday tomorrow.

The forecaster has also warned of the possibility of localised flooding with the threat of damage to some structures.

It's hoped Waterford and the South-East will escape the worst of the weather - which will come as some consolation to the thousands of revellers at Curraghmore Estate for All Together Now.

Meanwhile, huge crowds are expected in Waterford City this evening for the annual Spraoi parade and fireworks display.
