Waterford Council is compiling a list of local routes where road markings need refreshing.
Suggestions for roads where repainting is needed are being invited from Councillors, and the programme will be embarked upon later this year
The update was given at this month's Metropolitan District meeting following a call from Fine Gael Cllr Frank Quinlan.
"There's lots and lots of roads around the City that need repainting and we can give four or five roads per month and try put a plan in place," he suggested.
Councillor Quinlan said that on a number of roads you can't see white lines.
He highlighted a few areas that are particularly bad with Bridge Street, The Quay, and Griffith Place all being named.
He says that in the dark you can't see what side of the road you are on.
You can make suggestions for what roads need to be repainted by contacting the Council here.
