Waterford City and County Council has advised residents and road users about upcoming construction works in The Square, Kilmacthomas, starting today (Friday).
These works follow on from recent Active Travel improvements at Kilmacthomas Primary School, carried out under the Safe Routes to School programme.
The works will include traffic calming measures, construction and widening of footpaths, buildouts, parking realignment, and placemaking improvements outside Centra on the L7055, L3306 and the surrounding area.
To facilitate these improvements, traffic management measures, including temporary traffic lights, will be in place from today onwards. The works will continue over the coming weeks.
Disruption to the current flow of traffic and parking in The Square is expected during this period. However, pedestrian access will be maintained at all times, with temporary arrangements in place where necessary.
These works are funded by the National Transport Authority and delivered by Waterford City and County Council as part of its Active Travel Programme.
