Due to the Status Yellow rain warning issued by Met Éireann for Waterford, slurry spreading must not be undertaken until after the rain has passed according to Waterford Council.

The Status Yellow Rain warning is valid from 2pm Friday, September 19^th until midnight (12am) Sunday, September 21^st.

Under the European Union (Good Agricultural Practice for Protection of Waters) Regulations 2022, organic and chemical fertilisers or soiled water shall not be applied to land when heavy rain is forecast within 48 hours.

Farmers are also reminded that the last day for slurry spreading this season is Tuesday, September 30^th.
