Gardai spending hours at COVID19 checkpoints in Waterford City received a welcome surprise on Easter Sunday.
Two local children, Jessie and Bailey O'Reilly together with their Dad Tom, paid a visit to the checkpoint on Rice Bridge and presented the Gardai on duty with some of their treasured Easter eggs.
Checkpoints are continuing across Waterford City and County today. People are being reminded that they should only be travelling if it is an essential journey.
Meanwhile, community Gardai in Waterford remain available to assist older and vulnerable members of the community at this time.
Deputy Commissioner John Twomey would like to remind the elderly and vulnerable in our society that "We are here to help. If you need help or assistance call your local Garda Station. We are all in this together".#heretohelp #StayAtHome #WashYourHands #SocialDistancing pic.twitter.com/1LY3LPCgU1
