31 councillors are putting themselves forward for re-election while one current Kilkenny County Councillor has opted to stand in Tramore Waterford City West.

26 are first time candidates while two have run in the past.

Four others served as councillors or town councillors prior to 2015 and two were candidates in General Elections.
