Water quality improves at two Waterford beaches

Waterford Council has lifted bathing restrictions at two County Waterford beaches.
The local authority retested the water quality at Ardmore and Counsellors Strand in Dunmore East.
However, people are being encouraged not to swim at Kilmurrin Cove until further notice.
Temporary ‘Do Not Swim’ notices were put in place at all three beaches this week after the water quality deteriorated due to heavy rain and suspected agricultural run-off.
Following retests, the bathing water restrictions at Ardmore and Counsellors Strand are now lifted with immediate effect.
The no bathing advice for Kilmurrin Cove remains in place until further notice.
