Warm tributes to Waterford road crash victim as funeral details announced

Warm tributes have been paid to the woman who died tragically in a County Waterford road crash this week.

Margaret (Maggie Aggie) Burnes (née Troy) White Strand, Abbeyside, Dungarvan and formerly Ballyogarty, Kilmacthomas, died in the two vehicle collision on the N25 at Garranbane on Tuesday 9th July.

Margaret's death notice states that she is "deeply mourned by her loving daughter Jenny, granddaughter Sophie, sisters Ollie and Barbara, her brother John, brother-in-law Gerry, sisters-in-law Mary and Ann, nephews, nieces, neighbours and extended family."

She was predeceased by her parents James and Nellie, brother Shamie and sisters Pat and Philomena.

Reposal will take place at Drohan’s Funeral Home Dungarvan on Sunday from 4pm - 6pm with Funeral Mass on Monday at 11am in St. Anne’s Church, Ballylaneen. Burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

She has been remembered as "a lovely lady who always had a wave and a pleasant smile" and who was "always pottering away in her garden with a warm smile on her face".

Gardaí are continuing their investigation into Tuesday's incident, and any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the area at the time of the collision are asked to make this footage available.
