Funding has been granted for the redevelopment of Waterford's Walsh Park.
Waterford Minister of State John Halligan has confirmed that the County Board is set to receive €3,753,750 under the Large Scale Sport Infrastructure Fund.
The €7m project will see the capacity of the ground increased to 16,000.
Minister Halligan says it's fantastic news.
"I spoke to Pat Flynn, the county board secretary a few minutes ago, the funding has been allocated - almost €3.8m has been allocated.
That has been allocated for works which will include the demolition of the existing dressing rooms, construction of the new covered western stand, terrace and the construction of a new uncovered seating north stand.
The GAA are delighted, that's the amount that has been allocated almost €3.8m which is substantial funding."

Waterford County Board Chairman Sean Michael O'Regan says they are over the moon with the announcement.
"We've been waiting a long time for the announcement, it's great that it has arrived at the start of the year.
"It's all new for us now and that's step number one out of the way and we can start moving on.
"For now we're absolutely thrilled and delighted in Waterford GAA circles."
