
The team at Visit Waterford is proud to announce that it has been awarded the Bronze Award at the 2025 Media Awards, held on May 8th at the Mansion House in Dublin.
The recognition was granted in the Niche Awards category for the success of its 2024 tourism campaign, ‘Dive into Waterford’.
The campaign, which ran throughout 2024, showcased Waterford’s rich blend of coastal beauty, heritage experiences, and adventure tourism, inviting both domestic and international visitors to explore Ireland’s oldest city and its surrounding treasures.
Through a mix of digital storytelling, immersive video content, and strong community engagement, ‘Dive into Waterford’ captured the unique charm of the region and inspired a surge in visitor numbers across the year.
Running from May 1 to October 30, 2024, the campaign achieved extraordinary results, reaching people across Ireland, the UK, Europe, and North America. The campaign reached a total audience of more than 56 million across multiple platforms, including 27.2 million through paid media, 29.2 million via earned media, and over 900,000 through owned channels. These results were achieved with a modest paid media spend of €30,700.
Chair of Visit Waterford, Clare Barrett, commented on the achievement: “This campaign not only met its objectives but set a new standard for destination marketing in Ireland. It turned visibility into real visitor engagement through creativity, authenticity, and strategic focus.”
