Over 200 people gathered at St. Nicholas Church in Faithlegg, Waterford from 7:30 tonight for a vigil in memory of Matthew James Healy.
The service was organised by Fr. Breen who held the service for the children and parents of Faithlegg National School where Matthew attended senior infants.
Students from his class were invited to bring offerings to the altar, including daffodils and gifts they made in class today.
Teachers also spoke fondly and thanked all of those in attendance for their support.
Matthew will be reposing at his home in Watergrasshill, Cork, tomorrow from 5 pm to 8 pm.
Requiem Mass will be held in the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Watergrasshill Eircode on Wednesday, the 14th of February, at noon, followed by a private service in The Island Crematorium Ringaskiddy.
