A local man has released a song for the Solas Cancer Support Centre, dedicated to the memory of CervicalCheck campaigner Vicky Phelan.
Local musician Joe Tobin never met Vicky Phelan but he was so touched by her story and campaign.
Joe recently had the opportunity to meet Vicky’s parents who have endorsed this project, knowing that cancer support charities like the Solas Cancer Support Centre would have been so close to Vicky’s heart.
The Solas Cancer Support Centre provides free professional support services to people impacted by a cancer diagnosis in Waterford, Dungarvan, and surrounding areas.
This year, Solas has seen a 35% increase in the demand for services, and running costs for this record level of support was close to €1m, the vast majority from individual fundraising and corporate support.
