An underage driver had his vehicle seized at a checkpoint in Waterford City last night.
A statement from Gardai outlined that Gardai from the Waterford Roads Policing Unit conducted a checkpoint at the Six Cross Roads in Waterford City last night (Monday April 4th) at 10.30pm.
Upon approaching the checkpoint, a young driver was stopped when it was found that the car he was driving was not insured.
Waterford Gardaí were conducting a checkpoint in Waterford City recently when they stopped this car. It was found that the driver was only 16 years of age.

It then transpired that the driver in question was unqualified - and was in fact a sixteen-year-old.
Gardai seized the vehicle in question, but no arrests were made.
