Uisce Éireann has completed repairs at the Dungarvan Water Treatment Plant following a mechanical pump failure that disrupted water supply to customers in the area.
While the issue has been resolved, it will take time for the network to recover fully and for normal supply to return to all affected customers.
Maura Phelan, Uisce Éireann Water Operations Manager, thanked affected customers for their cooperation during repair works.
“Uisce Éireann acknowledges the inconvenience caused by the prolonged interruption to the water supply and sincerely thanks our customers for their patience and cooperation while this essential repair work was carried out,” she said.
Typically, it takes two to three hours following repairs for normal supply to be restored to all customers affected by an unplanned outage.
However, it may take longer for normal supply to be restored to customers at the end of the network or on higher ground as the system recharges.
The impacted areas included Dungarvan, Abbeyside, Ballinroad, Clonea, Knocknagrannagh, Burgery, Ballinacourty, Ring, Seaview, Old Parish, Loskeran, and surrounding parts of County Waterford.
