University Hospital Waterford is continuing to deal with additional attendance at its Emergency Department.
It follows after a fire broke out at Wexford General Hospital on Wednesday.
Maternity services resumed on Friday with some services still on hold.
General manager at UHW Grace Rothwell says UHW completed all transfers in acceptable service levels. She added: "We catered for any Wexford woman that presented to us, about 5 in total. The bulk of the work of acute hospitals is completed in EDs and it does create additional pressure for the hospital."
According to the hospital's manager Linda O'Leary, the cause of the fire is yet to be known.
Grace continued to say: "Wexford has taken some patients back which will alleviate pressure on UHW. Anybody attending the ED department in UHW should present to the emergency department. The care doc service in Waterford and Wexford also has additional services to deal with the increased demand."
