From today, people in Waterford will be able to book a taxi through Uber, making it the latest city Uber has launched in Ireland.

Riders in Waterford can now use the Uber app to book a taxi trip at the click of a button. Drivers using Uber are fully licensed taxi drivers.

Uber's community guidelines alongside built-in safety features are aimed at making travel in Waterford as reliable and secure as possible.

Kieran Harte, General Manager of Uber in Ireland, said: “We are extremely proud to launch Uber in Waterford where we have been seeing increased demand for our services. Expanding Uber to the city will help maximise earnings opportunities for drivers while giving passengers more choice, meaning that everyone will benefit.”

Customers can select a destination and pay through a single user-friendly app. All partner drivers are professional and fully licensed.
