Two men have been charged in connection with the theft of high-value cars across the country.

Gardaí arrested two men, one in his late 20s and one in his mid 40s, on Wednesday in Conna, Co Cork, just a few kilometres from the west Waterford town of Tallow.

They were arrested after attempting to steal a car in the area.

The man in his 20s has since been charged and is due to appear at Fermoy District Court on Friday.

While the man in his 40s has also been charged and is due before a special sitting of the District Court in Mallow at five o'clock this evening (Sunday).
