Two men have appeared in Limerick District Court charged in connection with the investigation into the seizure of an estimated 300kg of cocaine.
The major drugs haul was discovered on a cargo ship at Foynes Port on Tuesday.
Bulgarian nationals Kamen Petkov (35) and Nikola Penchev (32) were charged with possession of a quantity of cocaine for sale and supply at Foynes Port on December 19th, contrary to the Misuse of Drugs Act.
Both men were granted free legal aid when the court was told they had no means, and were unable to work.
They were remanded in custody to appear by video link in court on December 29th.
