An Garda Siochana have confirmed that two people have died and two have been seriously injured following a serious traffic collision near Tramore.

Gardaí, ambulance crews, and fire services arrived at the scene shortly after the incident occurred.

The crash happened shortly outside Tramore in the Ballykinsella crossroads and Pickardstown Cross areas. Two vehicles were involved in the collision The Garda Press office confirmed a short time ago that the two injured have been moved to University Hospital Waterford . Gardaí have implement diversions and road closures to traffic approaching the affected area.

The road closure is causing delays for motorists travelling through the area.

Gardai are advising drivers to avoid the Ballyksinsella Crossroads/ Pickardstown Cross areas where possible and to follow all diversion signage currently in place.

Motorists should plan alternative routes and allow additional travel time while the closure remains in effect.
