All lectures at Trinity College Dublin to go online due to coronavirus

All lectures at Trinity College Dublin are to go online for the rest of the semester because of the coronavirus.

A number of spaces on the campus are also closed with immediate effect to stop the spread of the infection.

24 people now have Covid-19 in the Republic of Ireland.

TCD has announced significant measures to restrict the spread of the virus.

From tomorrow, all lectures will be online but tutorials and practical will continue as normal.

The college has closed the Long Room, which contains the Book of Kells, the Science Gallery and the Douglas Hyde Gallery.

It comes as the Tánaiste says the Government is considering a number of restrictions including extending Easter holidays for schools.
