Warm tributes have been paid to the pedestrian who died in a crash in Ferrybank at the weekend.

Eamonn (Ned) Murphy from Ballynooney, Mullinavat, died on Sunday following an incident involving a car in Sallypark on the R448 at around 2.10am.

His death notice reads that he was predeceased by his parents Martin and Peggy Murphy.

Ned is described as “beloved husband of Vitalija and loving daddy to Tommy. Ned will be dearly missed by his heartbroken family, brother James, sister Ann Marie, sisters-in-law Trish and Audra, brother-in-law Tommy, nieces Ella, Ciara and Katie, nephews Senan, Oisin and Martin, mother-in-law Virginija and father-in-law Petras, relatives, neighbours and friends.”

His death notice states: “Ned was a pure gentleman and always found time to have a quick word and a bit of craic with his wide circle of friends. We love you Ned and will miss you forever.”

Reposal will take place this evening (Tuesday) at Donnacha Doyle & Son Funeral Home, Grannagh, Kilmacow  until 7:00pm.

Funeral will arrive on Wednesday at St. Beacon’s Church Mullinavat (via his residence) for Requiem Mass at 2:00pm. Burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.
