
Tributes paid to Waterford man who died in Christmas Day collision
Tributes have been paid to Alan Walsh, from St. John’s Park in Waterford City, who died following a collision involving an e-scooter and a car on Christmas Day.
The incident occurred at the junction of Manor Hill and Hennessy’s Road at approximately 11 am. Mr Walsh, who was in his 40s, was taken to University Hospital Waterford, where he was later pronounced dead.
Alan was predeceased by his grandparents and his nephews, Thomas and Jack.
He is survived by his son Sean and daughter Ava, and will be sadly missed by his heartbroken mother Esther, father Tommy, brothers Thomas and Mark, sisters Lorraine, Karen, and Sarah, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles, relatives, neighbours, and a wide circle of friends.
Funeral arrangements
Alan will be reposing at Thompson’s Funeral Home, Barrack Street, Waterford, on Saturday, 3rd January, from 12.30 pm.
Vigil prayers and Rosary will take place at 1.45 pm, followed by removal to the Sacred Heart Church, The Folly, for Requiem Mass on arrival at 2.30 pm.
Burial will take place immediately afterwards in St. Otteran’s Cemetery, Ballinaneeshagh, Cork Road, Waterford.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to contact Waterford Garda Station on (051) 305300, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda station.
