A tribute to Waterford playwright Teresa Deevy will be aired on RTÉ tonight.
Teresa was born in the 1930's and contributed significantly to an Independent Ireland.
The documentary titled 'Tribute: The Teresa Deevy Story' will air at 10:15 on RTÉ One.
Performance Artist, Amanda Coogan, will feature in the Tribute, by exploring Teresa's life and work.
Speaking to WLR, she shared how Teresa became interested in the world of theatre.
At the age of just 19, Teresa got Meniere's disease and lost her hearing as a result.
"As part of her training in lip-reading, she started going to the theatre. She'd read the plays beforehand and go to the theatre and see how it was done," Amanda said.
Speaking about the rediscovery of Teresa, Amanda said it took a man from New York for that to happen.
According to her, he sat down and worked at making Teresa known again.
Over the decades, Teresa's work had largely been forgotten, but Amanda hopes this can change.
Throughout the documentary, Amanda hopes to do justice to her never-before-seen ballet, Possession.
The play was created and performed by Amanda in conjunction with the Dublin Theatre of the Deaf.
