A group of friends and emergency service workers from Waterford are setting off on an epic cycle in tribute to the crew of Rescue 116 and Coastguard volunteer Caitriona Lucas.
The group will cycle all four Rescue bases in Dublin, Sligo, Shannon and Waterford, over 4 days in September.
Each of the four days will be in honour of the crew of Rescue 116, with the day from Waterford to Dublin being "A day for Dara" Fitzpatrick who lived in Waterford for 10 years.
The tribute cycle will also raise money for Pieta House in Waterford and for Dunmore East first responders
One of the organisers is Eoin Crowley, he says while the core group of cyclists will be small, they hope others will join in along the way.
