Tramore RNLI are reminding the public to alert emergency services by calling 999 or 112 and asking for the Coastguard if they see anyone in difficulty.
They were launched at 12.30pm this afternoon after they were alerted to a broken down half decker boat just north of the Guillamene.
One person was on board, and the Tramore RNLI Lifeboat brought the vessel back to the pier.
Paul Tuohy from Tramore RNLI has this advice for anyone who gets into difficulty on the water over the weekend.
"Be safe - swim in the Lifeguarded and the lifeguards are on duty now at five Blue Flag beaches which is great.
"Take note of any signs- the Lifeguards have had signs out in relation to rips and various things down on the beach over the last number of days and swim in your own depth," Tuohy said.
Waterford Council have the Beach Lifeguard Service at Ardmore, Clonea Strand, Tramore, Dunmore East Counsellors Strand and Main Strand from 11am to 7pm.
While the Lifeguard Service at Bonmahon will commence later on in the month, from Monday the 28th of June.
