Independent candidate Blaise Hannigan was re-elected to serve the people of Tramore / Waterford City West as five of the six sitting councillors in the locality retained their seats.

Hannigan was elected at the expense of Green Party Councillor Cristiona Kiely - as her elimination confirmed that there would be no Green Party representation on Waterford City and County Council for the next five years.

The poll was topped by Fine Gael's Lola O'Sullivan, while three Independent candidates were elected in the form of Blaise Hannigan, Joe Kelly and Joe Conway.

Sinn Fein maintained the seat held by Jim Griffin, while Eamon Quinlan held onto the seat he has held since 2014 for Fianna Fail.
