Attempts are ongoing to manage traffic flow in Dunmore East ahead of the busy summer season.
Social Democrats Councillor Mary Roche raised the issue at this month's Metropolitan District meeting.
She outlined the extent of congestion in the village at peak times.
"It is absolute chaos from Easter on and people have put up with it for years and they're asking is there anything going to be put in place this year?" Councillor Roche said.
Conor O'Neill, Senior Executive Engineer with the Council's Roads Department, provided an update.
He said there has been no study done as of yet, and acknowledged that the problem with parking has been going on for years.
"We try to manage as best we can during the Summer, especially when tourists are being unloaded from cruiseliners and so forth. We try to create a one way system for those buses adn we try to cordon off parking areas," Conor said.
