A planning application has been submitted for demolition works to facilitate the expansion of the Tower Hotel.
Plans, submitted by the Neville Hotels Group, involve the destruction of existing buildings at Lombard Street.
A four-storey hotel building will be constructed in place of the demolished buildings, comprising of a function room, reception area and toilets.
46 total hotel rooms are planned, comprising of three two-bedroom hotel suites, one hotel bedroom and 12 one-bedroom suites on both the first and second floor.
11 one-bedroom suites, two two-bedroom suites and another hotel room are planned at third floor level.
An altered car park layout would allow for 76 cars and 10 bicycles at ground floor level.
A decision is expected from Waterford City and County Council by July 25th.
