"There will always be good hurlers in Waterford" - De La Salle College head to PE-XPO

De La Salle College in Waterford will be well represented at a national fitness expo.

The PE-XPO will be held on May 2nd in Dublin, with De La Salle being the only school in the country to have 39 entries.

The event taking place on May 2nd, showcases projects from schools across the country that promote physical fitness.

TY Student Ben Collins spoke to WLR News at the school about his project, barriers for women in sport.

"We had a look at the five main barriers. I'm coaching the academy in Tramore, and we are getting good numbers. We would however like to see more girls sign up and hopefully, as the years go on, that will be the case."

De La Salle TY Student Charlie O'Callaghan, who plays at minor level for Waterford Hurling, spoke to WLR News about his love for the sport.

"Waterford Hurling will never be gone because there is always something new coming through the pipeline. There will always be good hurlers in Waterford. My life revolves around hurling. Ask anyone and they will tell you I know everything about hurling. Ask me anything."
