There were ten arrests in relation to driving under the influence in the Waterford City area during the Easter Bank Holiday Weekend.
That’s according to Inspector Shay Keevans from Waterford Garda Station who has issued a reminder in relation to road safety ahead of the upcoming May Bank Holiday Weekend.
“Unfortunately, statistics show that on Bank Holiday Weekends there is an increase in accidents,” said Inspector Keevans.
“This weekend we will be out in force with a view to preventing fatalities and serious accidents. Don’t drink and drive, utilise your friends, somebody in the group who is not taking a drink.”
Inspector Keevans also recommends use of the TFI Local Link service.
There have already been a significant number of arrests for driving under the influence in Waterford this year.
