
Gardaí investigating the murder of Ian Walsh in County Tipperary have charged a man in his late teens.
Mr Walsh, a 49-year-old former Irish Rail worker, was found unresponsive on the Cregg Road on August 4th. A murder investigation was formally launched on August 7th.
The suspect was arrested yesterday, Wednesday 20th August, and detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 at a Garda Station in the Clare–Tipperary Division.
Gardaí have now confirmed that he has been charged and is expected to appear before a special sitting of Clonmel District Court at 4:30 pm this afternoon, Thursday 21st August.
Investigations are continuing.
