A teenager has been charged with the murder of Ian Walsh in South Tipperary earlier this month.

The Irish Rail worker was found dead at his home in Carrick on Suir on August 4th.

19 year old Nathan Hanlon of Ballyneale, Carrick on Suir appeared before a special sitting of Clonmel District Court yesterday afternoon (Thursday), charged with the murder of 48 year old Ian Walsh.

Mr Walsh, a former Irish Rail worker originally from Kilcohan in Waterford City, was discovered at his home on the Cregg Road on August 4th.

Defence counsel requested legal aid, as well as a psychological assessment.

Mr. Hanlon was denied bail due to the nature of the charges.

He will appear again before Clonmel District Court on August 26th.
