Teenage boy dies following Carlow drowning incident

A teenage boy has died following a Carlow drowning incident after getting into difficulty while swimming in the River Barrow.
Emergency services were alerted to a person in distress at 6.30 yesterday evening.
The young man was one of three teenagers swimming at Cloghristick when he got into difficulty.
A search, involving the fire service, Gardaí, and ambulance service, was launched.
The teenage boy was found at 11.30 last night by the Garda Water Unit.
