The Taoiseach has said the government hopes to be able to open hotels in June.

Micheál Martin has refused to confirm what level of detail the government will provide on re-opening next week.

It's expected retail, personal services, and the full construction sector will be allowed to re-open in May.

Micheál Martin has said he won't get into speculation beyond that:

"What I said at the end of March was that we would look and examine the issue of hotels in June and I also said we would examine a range of issues in May.

"We have made no decisions in relation to these issues yet, but I think people know what we have identified because we want to give people indications about the step-by-step approach we would like to take," he said.

Meanwhile, the Foreign Affairs Minister has said people shouldn't book holidays abroad this summer.

Simon Coveney has said the government will continue to prioritize public health over economic arguments when it comes to aviation.
