Taoiseach commits to visiting Waterford farm to hear of farmers' issues

An Taoiseach Simon Harris has committed to visiting a County Waterford farm to learn more about the issues facing farmers.

He spoke with members of Waterford IFA yesterday during his visit to the Dungarvan Show.

They highlighted some of the ongoing issues which they are encountering.

"He came across as a very personable individual who has empathy towards farmers," explained Mark Connors from Fahafeelagh, Kilmacthomas.

"He acknowledged we have challenges and has given a commitment to coming onto a Waterford farm to discuss the problems and obstacles facing us. This is encouraging,"

Waterford IFA Dairy Chair Laura Forbes said she was delighted to receive the commitment.

"We can discuss the challenges in detail that are facing all farmers," she said.
