There has been a substantial increase in requests for support from Waterford Food Bank this December.
That's according to co-ordinator Karen Glancy who says they will deliver food parcels to one thousand people across the city this week - and the number of people seeking support has increased substantially.
"The cost of living crisis is hitting so many people and is beginning to impact people who would never have been affected," she said.
Karen says this includes more and more dual-income families who are struggling with rising mortgage rates, utility bills and the cost of car insurance and are outside the "threshold of help".
Last month, WLR reported on the efforts being undertaken by the charity as part of the 'Fill a Bus' initiative.
