A status yellow warning for wind is in place for Waterford this morning.
The alert issued by Met Éireann also included Cork, Wexford, and Kerry.
The forecaster is warning of very strong south, to southwest winds, with the potential for wave overtopping.
Stormy conditions, including heavy rain and lightning, have been reported in East Waterford, while there are reports of a tree down near O'Mahony's Pub in Stradbally, blocking the road there.
The weather warning will remain in place until 11am.
