Storm Isha is battering Waterford City and County this evening as it moves across Ireland.
Waterford is under a Status Orange wind warning until 2am Monday.
Met Éireann says the conditions could lead to wave overtopping, dangerous travelling conditions, fallen trees, disruption to services and damage to power lines.
Road closures
Fallen trees have already been reported in several locations across County Waterford today - leading to several road closures, particularly in West Waterford.
The road is closed at the R666 at Lismore Golf Club towards Ballysaggart and alternative routes are advised.
The L3102 Bog Road is also now closed entirely as well as at Carriglea due to fallen trees and crews are on site.
Significant flooding has been reported on the R671 at Kereen.
A section of N72 had been closed on account of impassibility between Dungarvan and Cappoquin due to a significant volume of fallen trees. The road was closed for some time while Waterford City and County Council crews worked to clear the debris, but it has now reopened.
There are reports of trees fallen on the road between Walsh's Cross and the Seanachai in the An Rinn area - and at Saperton between Tallow and Camphire.
A tree has also fallen down on the Canal Road heading toward Twomilebridge.
A vehicle has been struck between Carrick and Clonmel on account of a fallen tree, no injuries have been reported.
Trees which had fallen in the Shandon area of Dungarvan and between Villierstown and Dromana earlier have been cleared.
In East Waterford, fallen trees have been reported in Kilmeaden, Ferrybank and Woodstown.
Power outages
896 people are without power in areas near Cappoquin, Villierstown, Dromana, Cappagh and Affane.
327 customers are currently without power in Lismore.
In Clonea and Rathgormack, 160 homes are without any power at present.
63 homes are without electricity in the Kilmacthomas area.
25 customers are without power in Annestown.
12 customers are without power in Colligan and a further 11 outages have been logged in Tramore.
