Heavy rain is forecast for Waterford this evening and tonight.

Met Eireann has issued a status yellow rainfall warning for Waterford, Tipperary, Cork, Kerry and Limerick.

The forecaster is predicting up to 40 millimetres of rain to fall across the five counties. It may be higher in mountainous areas.

The warning will be in effect from 3 pm today until 9 am tomorrow morning.
