Waterford is set to come under a Status Yellow weather warning for low temperatures and ice.

The warning will be in place from 6pm on Saturday January 3rd until 11am on Sunday January 4th.

Met Éireann says temperatures will fall to between -2 and -4 degrees in many areas with sharp or severe frost and icy stretches.

The forecaster says there will potentially be hazardous travelling conditions.

The warning applies to all of Munster along with Carlow, Dublin, Kildare, Kilkenny, Laois, Longford, Meath, Offaly, Westmeath, Wexford, and Wicklow.
