
A Status Yellow low temperature and ice warning from Met Éireann for Waterford and large parts of the country.
The warning is in effect from eleven o’clock this morning until nine o’clock tomorrow morning, with temperatures expected to fall to between minus one and minus three degrees.
Met Éireann is warning of sharp frost, icy stretches and the risk of black ice.
Motorists and pedestrians are being advised to take extra care, as treacherous travel conditions are possible, particularly on untreated roads and footpaths.
The Status Yellow warning applies to Waterford, Munster, Leinster, Galway, Roscommon, Cavan and Monaghan, with local authorities urging people to stay informed and exercise caution during the cold spell.
