The WLR 'Standing Stronger Together' four-part radio series is dedicated to unravelling the complex issue of bullying in schools.

Through compelling interviews with educators, psychologists, students, parents, and experts, the WLR News and Current Affairs team will gain insights into the various forms of bullying – from physical aggression to cyberbullying – and the profound toll it takes on the mental, emotional, and academic well-being of its victims.

We will also hear from those who have experienced bullying first-hand, bravely sharing their stories to raise awareness and inspire change.

Our first episode, 'Understanding Bullying', airs on 'The Saturday Café with Maria McCann' this Saturday January 20th and will feature WLR's Jennifer Long chatting with leading psychotherapist, author, columnist, broadcaster and lecturer Colman Noctor.

Future episodes will focus on topics including, 'Voices of Experience',  'Prevention and Intervention', and 'Empathy and Empowerment'.

Through these conversations, we aim to inspire a collective commitment to eradicating bullying and nurturing a generation of strong, empathetic, and empowered individuals.

You can listen to these programmes on air or through the 'Listen Back' section on wlrfm.com

The International Series on WLR FM is funded by Coimisiún na Meán with the support of the television licence fee.
