The St. Patrick’s Day festivities have drawn to a close across Waterford City and County for another year.

Over 60 entries from schools, business, sporting and community groups took part in the parade in Waterford City, the theme of which was ‘Colour, Culture and Community’.

As ever the best entries were given awards, with ‘Children’s Group Link’, which celebrates it’s 40th year this year, named overall winner.

This year’s parade in Dungarvan was marked with a tribute to Michael ‘The Mad Hatter’ Wright, who was famed for his presence in previous parades.

There was plenty of fun and colour and appearances by Donald Trump and Freddie Mercury amongst others.

In Tramore, there was a focus on ‘Saving Our Seas’, with participants aiming to highlight the impact that plastic waste is having on our environment.

The first of the day’s parades got underway in Portlaw and Cappoquin.
