The Spraoi Festival is gearing up to expand onto the Waterford Greenway this weekend.
From Thursday August 12th to Sunday August 15th - a series of events will take place at 5 locations at the renowned amenity.
Events will take place at 12pm, 2pm and 4pm each day.
Festival Director, Niamh Colbert, told WLR what Greenway-goers can expect to see in the coming days.
"We're off out to the Greenway this weekend. We'll be there Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday - spanning the Greenway from Carriganore to Clonea. We'll be at five locations, those being Carriganore, Killoteran, at the line kilns before you come to Mount Congreve, we'll be at Kilmacthomas Viaduct, Durrow Station and then also at Clonea Cross."
Niamh says it's wonderful that the festival can expand this year, and is encouraging people to come along this weekend.
"The Greenway is such a fantastic amenity that we have and it's so beautiful. People are really familiar with it. People are always on the Greenway - but it'll be a new experience to see this. It'll be great to show different ways to use the Greenway. Hopefully, people will get out and about and see the stuff over the four days."
After Greenway Spraoi, the August Festival moves to Participation Spraoi - where people will see the Faoin Speir installation.
"We've started to install that around the Apple Market and Michael Street. That's in collaboration with the Garter Lane Arts Centre. There's actually an audio and spoken word sound track to go along with the installation, as you experience it. You're working under it and around it. That's going to be launched this Thursday. That will be in place in the city centre for the next 4-6 weeks."
