Another spectacular fireworks display has brought the annual Spraoi festival to a close.

Thousands flocked to Waterford City’s quays last night to view the ‘Quay of Dreams’ parade.

It featured colourful floats and costumes and was followed by the fireworks display which lit up the city’s skies.

Speaking to WLR, Festival Director, TV Honan, thanked all who had supported the three day festival again this year.

He paid a special tribute to the late Miriam Dunne who died last December who was involved with the festival since its inception.

“The t-shirts this weekend say ‘Spraoi, this one is for you Mir’ – and definitely that’s what’s in our minds about the parade tonight.”
