Gardaí are investigating an incident of criminal damage which occurred in South Kilkenny at the weekend. 

A popular local landmark in Piltown, known as “The Ink Bottle Bug Hotel”, was totally destroyed by fire. 

The fire happened between midnight and 7.30am on Sunday September 14th .  The location of the bug hotel is close to the church in Piltown.

The Garda scenes of crime unit have visited the scene and Gardaí are looking for any information in relation to what they have described as the “mindless damage” of this unit.
